CLARKSVILLE, Ark. -- The LeTourneau women's basketball team started slowly and could not overcome a double-digit deficit in a 67-54 loss at Ozarks on Friday night in SCAC action.
Robbi Martinez scored a career-high 22 points with three steals and two rebounds to lead LeTourneau (5-15, 2-9 SCAC). Martinez went 9-of-17 from the field with three 3-pointers on her career-best night.
Kaylin Cervantes added 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the YellowJackets.
Ozarks (8-12, 3-8 SCAC) built a 20-point halftime lead (32-12) after outscoring LeTourneau, 25-9, in the second quarter. The Eagles were led by Elli Garcia's 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kennedi Wright added 13 points and nine rebounds.
LeTourneau scored 42 second-half points, but could not trim the deficit below 13 the rest of the way.
Makenzie Covey added six points and four rebounds, while
Sallie Moser had five points and two assists.
Kylie Weeks totaled four assists and three steals in the loss.
LeTourneau connected on 33.3 percent (23-of-69) from the field, while Ozarks made 39.3 percent (22-of-56) with seven 3-pointers.
