CLARKSVILLE, Ark. -- The LeTourneau men's basketball team took care of business on the opening night of their road trip, routing Ozarks 87-61.
The YellowJackets made a season-high 18 3-pointers and led all 40 minutes in the Friday night matchup, which took place in Mabee Gym.
Jak Kinder caught fire in the second half, extending LeTourneau's lead into the 30's when he netted five of his seven three's in five straight possessions. The freshman ended with a career-best 21 points, all of which came via long-range.
David Martinez followed in the scoring department with 15, while
Teigan Edwards added 12.
Logan Brinkoeter managed 10 points in the win, while nabbed eight boards.
LeTourneau (14-6, 9-2 SCAC) came out rolling, opening on a 10-1 run. Edwards kicked things off with a triple following the tip, followed by a Brinkoeter jumper, then Edwards locked in the rhythm with another 3-pointer.
The Eagles (3-18, 2-8 SCAC) would manage to keep things competitive through the first seven, but Edwards and Kinder would continue to work behind the arc, extending LeTourneau's lead to double-digits.
LeTourneau combined a long-ranged offensive attack with a stifling defense to hold a controlling 48-25 lead at the half.Â
Not much would change in terms of momentum in the second-half, leading by 20-plus for the majority of the half and extending to as much as 31.
LeTourneau earns their seventh win in its last eight contests, and remain undefeated in Blue Division play.
Eyal Shamri led the way for the Eagles with 15 points, DJ Miller produced 11 points and eight rebounds.
