Men's Hoops Dominates in Historic Win

CONWAY, Ark. -- LeTourneau men's basketball put up a historic performance on Saturday evening, defeating Hendrix 109-61 in Grove Gym.

The 48-point victory marks the largest win margin against an NCAA team in the program's NCAA-era. The YellowJackets shot an impressive 40-71 (56.3%) from the field, including 17-32 (53.1%) from 3-point range.

LeTourneau (15-6, 10-2 SCAC) had 16 players find the basket Saturday, including four reaching double-figures. David Martinez put up 16 points on a perfect 6-of-6 from the field in just 13 minutes on the floor. Logan Brinkoeter collected his 10th double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Jak Kinder garnered 12 points on four triples. Max Frels followed with 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor.

LeTourneau's 109 points tied a season-high for the current campaign, and they hold their opponents to 61 points for the second times in as many games.

The YellowJackets came out smoldering, running off a 13-5 run in the first four minutes, extending the lead to double-digits shortly after after buckets from Kinder and Teigan Edwards. Martinez and Kinder continued to pour it on from long-range, and LeTourneau quickly found themselves with a 20-point lead just 8:01 into the contest.

LeTourneau shot a blistering 71.88% (23-32 FG) from the field in the first half, including 13 made triples. The YellowJackets outscored Hendrix (1-21, 1-11 SCAC) 63-30 by halftime and had all but clinched the victory.

The YellowJackets dominance continued the stronghold in the second half, outscoring the Warriors 46-31, off the backs of the typical role players who found their ways into the scoring column. LeTourneau's lead reached 50 at two seperate points in the contest.

Hendrix's Charles Hatchett collected 13 points and seven rebounds, while Joseph Dockett garnered 13 points and six boards for the Warriors.
