LONGVIEW, Texas -- In its first year in the conference, the LeTourneau men's golf team has its eyes set on the SCAC title.
The SCAC Championships are set for April 19-21 at the Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas, hosted by Dallas.

CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES:
- Currently ranked No. 14 nationally, LeTourneau has climbed 16 spots over the last month in the Scoreboard/Clippd rankings and sits 51 spots ahead of the next SCAC team. LeTourneau also got back into the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Top 25 this week at No. 15.
- The YellowJackets are looking for their fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, as they were the 2024 ASC champions and received at-large bids in 2023 and 2025.
- LeTourneau has four tournament wins this year and has finished in the top three in six of its eight tournaments.
- The Jackets have finished a tournament par or better as a team three times this year, with nine par or better rounds.
- The conference team is composed of Owen Prewitt, Kaiden Schneider, Trey Cates, Brody Holmlund, and Rafa Torres. These five combine for four individual wins, eight top-five placements, 16 top-10 finishes, and 39 par or better rounds.
- Prewitt, Schneider, and Cates are the top three-ranked players in the SCAC and rank in the top 90 nationally.
- Prewitt -- ranked 35th nationally and the top SCAC player -- leads the team with a 72.82 scoring average. Prewitt has five top-10 and three top-five finishes this year, including his tied-for-first placement at the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate with his 7-under, 209 (68-71-70). The sophomore has produced a dozen par or better rounds this year.
- Schneider is coming into the tournament red hot, finishing par or better in his last two tournaments and winning SCAC Golfer of the Week on April 1. Schneider -- ranked No. 89 in the nation and averaging a score of 73.52 -- earned the weekly accolade for his 4-under, 212 (68-68-76) victory at the Goliath Compression Invitational.
- Cates set the program record for lowest 36-hole tournament score with his seven-under 137 (68-69) at the Linda Lowery Invitational. This performance earned him medalist honors and SCAC Golfer of the Week. Cates ranks 87th in the country, has an average score this season of 73.84, and has nine par or better rounds on the year.
- Torres burst onto the scene as a freshman, winning the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate in a playoff as he carded a 7-under, 209 (72-69-68) in his collegiate debut. He earned SCAC Golfer of the Week for his performance and is averaging a score of 74.28 this season.Â
