JACKSON, Miss. -- LeTourneau men's soccer takes its first loss of the 2026 season, 1-0 on a 90th-minute stunner.
After a back-and-forth defensive match, the LeTourneau men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss on a set-piece goal from Millsaps (1-0-2), Saturday at Harper Davis Field.
The loss for LeTourneau (3-1) snaps a three-match winning streak to start the season.
The YellowJackets won the possession game in the first half and limited Millsaps to just four shots in the period.
The YellowJackets' best chance to score was a shot in the 31st minute from inside the penalty box by
Angel Torres. The shot was clear of Millsaps keeper Edward Steinwand, but was deflected off the shin of a Majors defender.
LeTourneau had a hard time finding the goal all night. Despite winning the shot battle 13 to 10, only one was on frame.
Marcos Gonzalez recorded a shot late in the second half.
Both teams had chances in the second half, but neither team could cash in until late. In the waning seconds, Millsaps received a free kick from 40 yards out. The Majors glanced a through-ball off the right post, and Jannik Stockfisch was there to head the rebound in to take a 1-0 lead.
Carson Gamble played all 90 minutes in goal for LeTourneau and gathered four saves. Steinwand played the full 90 and saved the one shot he faced.
