MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The LeTourneau men's soccer team lost to a red-hot Rhodes team 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Rhodes Soccer Field.
LeTourneau falls to 4-3 on the season, and Rhodes stays unbeaten at 4-0-3.
The first half was fairly quiet, with neither team earning a clean look at the goal until the 26th minute, when Ben Novello tapped a ball in to Brody Douglas, who finished from the right side to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead.
Rhodes won the shot battle 10 to four. The YellowJackets had three of their four shots in the first half.
The Lynx were efficient with their shooting throughout the match, landing 10 of their 14 total shots on frame.
Rhodes kept the scoring going in the 57th minute with a hectic play in the box that ended with Cooper Koerlin scoring to give the Lynx a 2-0 lead.
In the 67th minute, Julian Ibarra was whistled for a foul in the box, which allowed Luke Grant to give the Lynx a 3-0 lead with a penalty kick goal.
The three goals scored put the Lynx at eight goals in their last two matches after a 5-1 win over East Texas Baptist on Friday.
Ibarra, Chris Garrett, Colton Chalker, and Ezequiel Romero each registered a shot for LeTourneau.
Carson Gamble played all 90 minutes for the YellowJackets and gathered five saves. Henri Kettner played the first 81 minutes for the Lynx and saved the two shots he faced before Brauner Boegner replaced him.
