Box Score

ABILENE - The LeTourneau YellowJackets women's soccer team faced a daunting task on Saturday afternoon as they took on the No. 3 ranked Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls on the road. The Cowgirls took control early as they took out the YellowJackets, 5-0.

Hardin-Simmons (13-0-1, 10-0 ASC) wasted no time, scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes to jump out to a 3-0 lead. They added another goal in the 22nd minute to take a 4-0 lead going into halftime. LeTourneau struggled as they only got two shots off in the half.

The YellowJackets (1-15, 1-9 ASC) hung tough in the second half as they tried to get back into the match, but the Cowgirls proved to be too much as they added another goal at the 61st minute to take the win.

Junior Katie Plunk led the offensive attack, taking two shots on the afternoon, while freshman goalkeeper Nicole Kemper had eight saves.

LeTourneau will close their season at home next weekend as they welcome in Shreiner on Friday at 4 p.m. and then again on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Texas Lutheran.
