LONGVIEW, Texas- The YellowJackets came into the women's soccer game this evening at the Joyce Family Athletic Village against the Crusaders of UMHB looking for their first win of the season.  In pouring rain, and with the game moved to the intramural soccer field, the women put up a valiant effort, losing to UMHB 2-0.

The game was scoreless, with both teams slushing around in the mud, until the 23rd minute, when Darla Gregory of the Cru put the ball in the net from outside the 18 to give UMHB a 1-0 lead.  Goalkeeper Nicole Kemper (Arlington, Texas) made a diving effort to save the shot, but the ball barely slid by.

UMHB added a second goal in the second half when Jordan Powers got the ball to deflect off of Kemper's gloves into the net for the two to nothing lead.

LeTourneau could only muster 6 shots in the game, while the Cru only attempted 7 tries on goal.

The YellowJackets will be back in action on the 4th of October with a trip to UT-Dalls for a conference.  Kickoff is scheduled for 5 pm.
