Box Score The LeTourneau University women's soccer team dropped an 11-0 decision to host University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday evening in Belton.
The host Crusaders scored three times in the first 45 minutes and eight more times in the second 45 minutes for the win. Four-different players for UMHB – Courtney Godwin, Allison Porter, Irene Riggle and Jesse Simmonds – each scored twice in the win.
With the win, UMHB improves to 12-3 overall and 6-3 in the ASC and the loss drops LeTourneau to 1-17 and 0-9 in the conference.
The LeTourneau attack recorded a pair of shots in the defeat compared to 32 for the Crusaders. Despite the shot differential, YellowJackets head coach Jamie Lindvall saw optimism in his eight-person team. "We weren't at our best in the first half tonight, but I thought we showed great composure and collective play in the second. I thought our combination play and possessions were particularly good in the second half. We definitely gave up some goals we shouldn't have but I love the fact that our girls are consistently working to get forward all the way to the final seconds of the game."
The YellowJackets will regroup for its season finale against University of Texas-Tyler on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m.
