Austin College Comes Out on Top in Sherman

Box Score In their third contest in five days, the LeTourneau women's soccer team played away to Austin College this afternoon. This marks the first NCAA D3 opponent for LETU Women's Soccer this fall, as Austin College is a D3 Regional opponent and a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Still numbering nine due to fitness testing, and with one member still sidelined by a collision from an earlier game, the LeTourneau women again took the field with eight players. Coming out strong in the first half, the visiting Yellowjackets would eventually concede to the home side on a direct ball in after ten minutes of play. Despite their best efforts and a continued commitment to an attacking mentality, the LeTourneau women were unable to overcome the deficit and ended the day with a loss to the Austin College women. When asked about the game, LETU coach Jamie Lindvall said, "There are a number of different things that we have focused on as a team. One is 'control the controllables' and another is 'know your job, do your job. This team is doing an outstanding job with both of those things. The character they have shown in their pursuit of excellence is remarkable and as coaches we are both privileged to coach them and tremendously excited for the rest of our season!"
