Michael Matthews of UT Dallas scored in the 77th minute to lead the host Comets to a 4-2 win over the LeTourneau University men's soccer team. Matthews scored when he hit a shot that hit off a LETU defender from 20 yards out for the game-winning goal. Seven minutes later, Matthews would add an insurance goal for the final margin.
With the loss, LeTourneau drops to 2-7 overall, 0-1 in the American Southwest Conference and with the win, UT Dallas raises its record to 6-2, 1-0 in the ASC. LETU senior goalkeeper

Alan Flores beat three UT Dallas defenders and fired a shot to the upper right of the goal to tie the contest in the 15th minute for his second goal of the season.
The Comets went ahead three minutes later when Danny Meyer scored for a 2-1 advantage. UTD went into the halftime break with the lead and until sophomores
Adam Schultz and
Hunter Swift worked together in the 67th minute for a YellowJacket goal. An entry pass by Swift found Schultz on the right side, who struck it for his fourth goal of the season to tie the contest at 2.
Next, the YellowJackets will have a contest on Saturday at the University of the Ozarks at 3 p.m.
