Box Score The LeTourneau University softball team swept the University of the Ozarks, 9-0 in five innings to complete a weekend sweep in its home opener on Saturday.
 
The YellowJackets (8-1, 5-1 ASC) pounded out nine hits in the five-inning, mercy-rule victory. Freshman 
Courtney Matulis allowed just one hit for the victory.
 
The Eagles (0-7, 0-6 ASC) were held in check by Matulis at the plate and Molly Bowman had the lone hit in the third inning on the afternoon.
 
LeTourneau scored in four of the five innings in the win. Junior 
Emily Ramsey and sophomore 
Taylor Kaderli each had two hits to pace a nine-hit attack. 
Jourdan Glover and 
Anna Winter had three and two RBI, respectively.
 
After scoring a run in the first and second inning for an early 2-0 lead, LeTourneau stretched its lead to 4-0 on a RBI sacrifice fly by senior 
Jourdan Glover and another came across when senior 
Chloe Cooper came in on a passed ball.
 
With a 4 -0 lead in the fifth inning, the YellowJackets added to their lead after a pair of one-out singles on a two-RBI single by Winter. Ramsey drove in Winter on a single for a 7-0 lead in favor of the home team. Glover ended the contest with a two-run home run for her second roundtripper of the season.
 
Next, on the schedule for LeTourneau is a trip to Belton, Texas to face the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. in a doubleheader and a single game on Saturday, Mar. 1 at noon.
