Box Score 2 The LeTourneau University softball team dropped a 4-1, 5-2 doubleheader to visiting Louisiana College on Friday at the LeTourneau Softball Field.

Game 2
LeTourneau (8-6, 5-6 ASC) was paced by the two hits each from freshman
Courtney Matulis and senior
Anna Winter. In relief, Matulis pitched 5.2 innings, scattering four hits, an unearned run and struck out one.
Louisiana College (11-1, 11-0 ASC) had 10 hits in the nightcap including three from Stephanie Jaeger to pace the Wildcats. She also drove in a pair of runs as seven members of the LC lineup had a hit. The Wildcats used three pitchers with Abby Maillet picking up the win.
The Wildcats scored twice in the first two innings en route to an early 4-0 lead. The YellowJackets picked up their first run of the game on a sacrifice fly by senior
Jourdan Glover that cut the LC lead to 4-1.
In the fifth inning, LeTourneau freshman
Whitney Judd doubled to right center; next, senior
Chloe Cooper reached on an infield hit. On the hit by Cooper, the Wildcats attempted to get Judd at second which the throw ended up in the outfield to put runners on the corners.
After a LeTourneau fielder's choice, senior
Anna Winter singled up the middle plated the second run of the contest for the YellowJackets to trim the deficit to 4-2. An unearned run in the sixth by LC provided the final margin.
The two teams will wrap up the weekend series with a contest at noon at the LeTourneau Softball Field.
