Box Score The LeTourneau University softball team dropped a 1-0 decision to Texas-Dallas on Friday afternoon in Richardson.
The YellowJackets (12-18, 9-16 ASC) surrendered a run in the fourth which proved to be the difference. LeTourneau spread five hits among five-different players as they stranded six runners in the defeat. For LeTourneau, it is their fifth one-run loss on the season.
The Comets (15-17, 8-17 ASC) got a two-out RBI double by Sara Navarro in the win. Earlier in the win, Jordan Bratcher reached on an infield single, followed by the two-out, game-winning hit by Navarro.
In the loss, LeTourneau stranded runners on third in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning. YellowJacket pitchers –
Kelli Parton and
Taylor Thibodeaux held the Comets to just four hits. Parton, who got the tough-luck loss, gave up four hits and struck out two in the loss and in relief, Thibodeaux held UTD without a hit and struck out five in the final two innings of work.
The two teams will wrap up the weekend series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader in Richardson.
