LeTourneau Softball Loses to Concordia, 5-1

Box Score The LeTourneau University softball team dropped a 5-1 decision to host Concordia University on Friday.
 
The YellowJackets (15-23, 10-21 ASC) had just two hits in the loss off Concordia starter Sydney Coffey. Whitney Judd and Anna Winter each had a hit in the loss. Both of the hits came in the sixth inning for LeTourneau.

The Tornados (16-22, 13-18 ASC) had eight hits including two from Katie Carrizales and Hanna Contreras in the win.
 
Concordia scored two unearned runs in the third inning for an early 2-0 lead. Then, the YellowJackets got on the board on a sacrifice fly by Jourdan Glover in the sixth. Earlier in the inning, LeTourneau's Megan Hill attempted to score on a double by Whitney Judd was thrown out at the plate.
 
The Tornados scored three in its half of the sixth en route to the 5-1 win. Coffey held the YellowJackets in check for most of the contest as they stranded runners on second in the first and second inning.
 
The two teams wrap up the series with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon at the Old Settlers Park in Austin.
