LeTourneau (12-17, 9-15 ASC) went ahead in the third on a bases loaded walk to Kaderli. The sophomore shortstop exhibited patience at the plate as she battled HSU pitcher Emily Hardaway for 15 pitches before receiving the walk. Earlier in the inning, a pair of hit by pitches and a single by senior Jourdan Glover loaded the bases for Kaderli.

Taylor Thibodeaux, who allowed just four hits in Friday night's win, followed that up with a three hitter on Saturday. The Angleton, Texas native struck out six and surrendered a solo home run for the only damage by the HSU offensive attack. The win by Thibodeaux is the 30th of her career which ties the all-time win mark at LeTourneau.

With a 1-0 lead, in the fifth, LeTourneau added an insurance run – which proved to be the difference – on a RBI single by Kaderli. Earlier in the inning, with one out, Glover doubled; then, Megan Hill walked to put runners on first and second. After a fielder's choice by Anna Winter put runners on first and second, Kaderli delivered her second RBI of the afternoon to put the home team in front by a 2-0 margin.

The Cowgirls mounted a threat in the seventh with the one-out solo homerun by Sarah Truelove. The next batter, Lauren Williams reached on a walk to put the tying run aboard. Then, a ground ball to the first baseman hit by Hardaway was alertly thrown to second to get the lead runner by freshman Courtney Matulis for the second out. Thibodeaux after a walk ended the contest when she got Mac Clay to fly out to left field.

The next series for the contest is a trip to Richardson, where they will face the University of Texas-Dallas in a three-game set. The action starts with a 5 p.m. game on Friday, April 11.
