LeTourneau baseball earned their first American Southwest Conference victory of the season using a dominating offensive effort in the series finale.

After dropping game one of the Saturday twin bill, LETU (9-20, 1-14 ASC) recorded a season-high 16 hits and 14 runs to secure a 14-9 win over the Lobos.

Senior
Kyle Jacobs notched a team-high four RBIs to lead the YellowJacket offense. Sophomore
Jacob Faubion went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored three runs to go along two RBIs.

After SRSU tied the game at 2-2, LeTourneau would begin an 11-run barrage over four innings. Faubion started it off in the top of the fourth inning as he crossed the plate on a Lobo error. Jacobs followed with two-RBI double to left center field to score
Zach Cochran and
Carson Dickey.

In the fifth inning, senior Jake Simmons doubled to left center and would come around to score on a wild pitch to push the lead to 6-3. Sophomore
Brandon Ramirez came through with a single to right field to score
Ryan Gibbs.

Zach Cochran would follow with a single up the middle to score Faubion and give LETU an 8-3 lead.

LeTourneau added two more in the top of the sixth inning on a wild pitch and a Faubion sacrifice fly to score
Gonzalo Sosa. The YellowJacket lead would swell to 10 runs in the top of the seventh when Dickey and Cochran scored on a
Kyle Jacobs single. Sosa hit an RBI double to left field to bring home Jacobs.

LETU added another insurance run in the top of the eighth as the Lobos tried to rally with three runs in the seventh inning. SRSU added three inconsequential runs in the final half inning before relief pitcher
Haden Simmons struck out the final batter.

Freshman
Luke Ludwig earned his first career win on the mound for the YellowJackets. The Spring, Texas native pitched seven innings and forced 19 fly outs.

LeTourneau had the offense clicking all day long as they also scored 10 runs in the game one loss. They scored six runs in the second inning on two RBI doubles from Jake Simmons & Dickey along with RBI singles from Faubion &
Noah Mahoney.

Sul Ross responded with a five-run sixth inning to take a 11-8 lead. LETU got two runs across in the top of the seventh on Sosa and
Haden Simmons RBIs but weren't able to complete the rally falling 11-10 to the Lobos.

LeTourneau will be back at Conrad-Vernon Field next week for a 3-game conference series with Mary Hardin-Baylor. Since it is Easter weekend the series will start on Thursday night at 7 p.m. with a Friday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
