LONGVIEW, Texas - Due to rain and severe weather making its way through east Texas on Tuesday late afternoon and evening, the LeTourneau University softball home opening doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday, February 20th has been postponed. 

A makeup date for the two games will be announced in the coming weeks, as all three teams are hoping to reschedule the games that were unable to take place.

LETU was scheduled to take on Grambling State University at 5 p.m. before squaring off against Centenary College at 7 p.m. in the nightcap of a three-game triangular that was being hosted at the LETU softball field. In the first game of the day which was able to be played to completion, Centenary College defeated Grambling State by a score of 10-1 in five innings. 

With the weather system expected to stall over the east Texas area, a decision regarding this weekend's American Southwest Conference series against Sul Ross State University will be made in the coming days. As things currently stand, the YellowJackets are scheduled to host the Lobos for a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Friday afternoon before closing out the three-game set on Saturday at 12 p.m.
