Box Score GEORGETOWN, Texas - The LeTourneau University women's tennis team fell by a score of 9-0 at number 23 nationally-ranked Southwestern University on Friday, March 23rd in a match that was made up from a February 17th postponement.
Following the non-conference loss, LETU is now 5-7 overall while the Pirates picked up win number seven to improve to 7-4 overall.Â
Early woes in the doubles matches allowed for Southwestern to grab momentum early on and carry it over to the singles matches as the YellowJackets would be held without a point for only the second time in 12 matches this season.
Maddison Brackenreg and
Gracie Favela would drop an 8-2 decision at number one doubles while
Terin Murray and
Katy Hall fell 8-1 at number two doubles before seeing Southwestern sweep the doubles matches with
Lauren Rockwell and
Mikayla Thomas falling by a score of 8-0.Â
The singles matches saw Brackenreg drop a 6-4, 6-0 decision at number one singles and Murray fall 6-0, 6-0 at number two singles to allow the Pirates to clinch the match. Hall played at number three singles for the first time this season, falling 6-1, 6-0 while Rockwell dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at number four singles. Other singles matches saw

LeTourneau will officially have two weeks off before playing their next match on Friday, April 6th at the University of Texas-Tyler to open up American Southwest Conference play at 9 a.m. The YellowJackets will host an exhibition match against Jacksonville College on Tuesday, April 3rd at 6 p.m.Â
