SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The LeTourneau women's tennis team competed in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships hosted by Trinity University at three locations across San Antonio.Â
All 10 members of the YellowJackets roster competed on the doubles side, with eight of them playing in the singles draws.Â
Chloe Tesser, Tiana Braxton, Anaiah Smith, and Maddie Nichol all competed in the main draw for LeTourneau. After dropping her opening match, Nichol earned two wins in the consolation with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Texas Lutheran's Isabella Hill and a 6-3, 6-3 win over Southwestern's Grace Roe. Anaiah Smith also picked up a consolation win in the main draw with a 2-6, 7-6, 10-3 win over ETBU's Hannalee Helms.Â
In Flight B, LeTourneau saw freshman Cambrey Johnson earn two wins and advance to the semifinals, with victories over Lauren Hofeldt from Austin College and Hannah White from UMHB. Madeline Chilek advanced to the quarterfinals of Flight B with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Lilian Cameron from Schreiner.Â
Emmy Phillips won a match in Flight C over Dallas' Cecilia Webb 6-0, 6-1, before dropping a tightly contested match in the quarterfinals. Â
On the doubles side, Braxton and Smith teamed up to earn an 8-1 main draw win over Texas Lutheran, before falling 8-4 to Trinity. Â
Lindley Vickers and Morgan Yost picked up an 8-5 win in Flight B over Howard Payne, before dropping their quarterfinal match against Schreiner.Â
