Women's Tennis Places Four on CSC Academic All-District

LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau women's tennis senior Kylie Weeks and sophomores Maddie Nichol, Emmy Phillips, and Lindley Vickers were all named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, announced the organization on Tuesday.

CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Weeks, a senior from Houston, Texas, garnered her first career all-conference honors in tennis as she collected All-SCAC first team in singles and All-SCAC first team in doubles. On the singles side, Weeks went 10-5 in dual matches and held a 14-7 overall record. She went 7-3 against SCAC foes and all 10 of her dual match wins came at the top flight. Weeks moved to the top spot in singles for the first time in her career this season. Her 10 wins ranks 12th in a single season in program history, while her 14 total wins in singles play was a career-high. She and Chloe Tesser combined for a 10-5 record at the top flight and earned All-SCAC first team.

A two-sport athlete, Weeks also earned All-SCAC third team honors in basketball this season. Majoring in business marketing, Weeks is now a two-time CSC Academic All-District in tennis to go with two CSC honors in basketball. She is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and three-time ASC Academic All-Conference honoree.

Nichol, a sophomore from Lone Oak, Texas, garners her first career CSC Academic All-District honor. Nichol played at the No. 2 spot in singles and recorded eight wins in dual matches and nine overall on the year. She went 8-8 at the No. 2 flight and was 6-4 in SCAC play. Nichol and teammate Anaiah Smith went 8-7 in doubles play.

Majoring in pre-nursing, Nichol earned ITA Scholar-Athlete and ASC Academic All-Conference last season.

Phillips, a sophomore from Prosper, Texas, also collects her first career CSC Academic All-District nod. The sophomore tallied five singles wins in dual matches and six overall, while getting four wins at the No. 5 spot in the lineup. She earned SCAC Player of the Week on Feb. 23. Phillips and Vickers combined for four wins at the No. 3 flight in doubles on the year.

Majoring in mechanical engineering, Phillips collected ITA Scholar-Athlete and ASC Academic All-Conference last season.

Vickers, a sophomore from Linden, Texas, moved into the lineup this year and garners her first career CSC Academic All-District selection. The sophomore had five total singles wins, while holding the No. 6 spot in the lineup. She and Phillips teamed up for four wins on the doubles side.

Majoring in biomedical sciences, Vickers earned ASC Academic All-Conference last season.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a significant contributor to the team (having played in 70 percent of the team's dates of competition), and be at least a sophomore academically.
