Box Score LONGVIEW, Texas - Looking to improve to 3-0 on the year, the LeTourneau University women's tennis team would be unable to complete the doubleheader sweep in a 9-0 home loss to Austin College at the Davis Tennis Courts on Saturday, March 3rd. 

The loss leaves LETU at 2-1 overall this season while the 'Roos improved to 5-3 overall this year.

Struggles would start early on in the afternoon match against AC, with the 'Roos taking all three doubles points over the YellowJackets. After seeing Lauren Rockwell and Mikayla Thomas fall by a score of 8-1 to Katie Seibert and Chandler Moore at No. 3 doubles, Austin College would clinch the other doubles matches with Melody Duong and Georgia Moore earning an 8-3 win over Terin Murray and Katy Hall while Maddison Brackenreg and Gracie Favela could not figure overcome an 8-5 defeat to Diana Carvajalino and Anna Sergiovanni. 

The singles matches would not fare much better in the match for LETU, with Favela falling to Sergiovanni at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-1 and Murray dropping a 6-1, 6-3 match at No. 2 singles to Carvajalino which allowed AC to clinch the match. LeTourneau's closest match of the day would come at No. 1 singles as Brackenreg would end up falling to Duong 6-4, 6-3 while Hall fell by a score of 6-3, 6-0 to Morris at No. 4 singles. 

Rockwell would also end up falling in a close match at No. 5 singles, dropping a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Moore while Samantha Trevino saw her only action of the match at No. 6 singles in a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Grace Ortiz. 

LeTourneau will play their first road match of the season on Friday, March 9th with a 1 p.m. match at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor starting at 1 p.m.
