HSU shuts out women's soccer 6-0

Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons shut out LeTourneau women's soccer 6-0 Friday at the Hardin-Simmons Soccer Complex.
Emma Thompson netted a pair of goals for the Cowgirls, which improved to 5-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in American Southwest Conference, while the Yellowjackets dropped to 1-7-1 on the campaign and 0-3-0 in the league.
 
Robin Evanyk, Haley Salazar and Evelyn Argueta recorded a shot for LeTourneau, while Kiersten Reeser had 16 saves.
 
Madely Dowell opened the scoring when she cashed in an assist from Aurora Arevalo 17 minutes into the game. Thompson's first tally came five minutes later, with the assists going to Caroline Pool and Michaela Sabrsula.
 
In the second half, Thompson struck six minutes in and Sabrsula recorded the helper. Aurora Arevalo found the back of the net two minutes later, collecting a pass from Dowell. With three minutes remaining in the fixture, Randie Dennison tallied her third of the season on an assist from Gabriella Aviles. Odessa Leal and Irene Ramirez set Skyler Devore up for the final tally with 26 seconds remaining on the clock.
 
Hardin-Simmons outshot LeTourneau 40-3, including 23 in second half.
 
The Yellowjackets continue their road trip Sunday at 5 p.m. against McMurry.
