LONGVIEW, Texas – Due to inclement weather rearranging its schedule, the LeTourneau softball team opens its season and American Southwest Conference play on the road Friday for a doubleheader at the University of Texas at Dallas. The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4 p.m., while the final game of the series is set on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Emilee Anderson. Richey, an All-American Southwest Conference Second Team selection a season ago, totaled 89 strikeouts last season with a 9-3 record. At the plate, Callie Poor and Crawford will pave the way for LeTourneau, tallying 58 hits and 35 RBIs between the two, while racking up 13 runs.
About UTD
The Comets of UT Dallas come into the series undefeated after downing Austin College in a pair of games in its last contest. UTD featured five pitches on the mound in the two games, led by Devyn Yanello and Marisa Mejia, who had 1.33 and 1.67 WHIPs, respectively. McKenzie Cutbirth had three strikeouts in the contests to lead the Comets. At the plate, Megan Todd set the standard for UTD, finishing with three hits, two homeruns and six RBIs with only five at bats. Sarah Lewis and Jordan Rasmussen also helped at the plate, both producing three hits and three RBIs apiece. Jordan Evans had six assists in the series to lead the Comets.
