FULL BSC CLASSIC SCHEDULE
LONGVIEW, Texas – LeTourneau softball embarks on a journey out of state as it heads to Hoover, Alabama to compete in the Birmingham-Southern Classic Saturday and Sunday.
The YellowJackets will face off against DePauw and host Birmingham-Southern the first day, and caps off the classic against Huntingdon and Mount St. Joseph on the second and final day. All games will be held in one facility at the Hoover Metropolitan Complex.
LETU enters the contest looking to get back into the winning column after falling in its season opener series to UT Dallas. The Jackets are led by
Mickenzie Murry at the plate, totaling four hits on the season, while
Hailee Leger leads the team on the mound with seven strikeouts.
DePauw fosters in the No. 1 team in the nation according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association coming into its first game of the season. The Tigers finished 40-5 last season, falling in the semifinals of the NCAA Division III national tournament to potential national champion Virginia Wesleyan.
Birmingham-Southern is ranked as the No. 3 team in the nation according to the NFCA. The Panthers finished as the National runners-up last season, posting a 33-8 record. BSC has started its 2022 campaign 2-0, downing Huntingdon in a doubleheader.
Huntingdon went 11-3 last season in conference play, ending its regular season on an eight game win streak. The Hawks are currently 2-2 on the season with contests against Centre and Birmingham-Southern.
The Lions of Mount St. Joseph boast a No. 13 NFCA ranking entering its first game of the season. MSJ had a 33-10 record a year ago, falling in the 2021 NCAA Division III Regionals to DePauw.
