Box Score BELTON, Texas – LETU softball fell on the road to 25
th nationally ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor, 8-0, in its final contest of the series.
UMHB got out to an early lead at the bottom of the second, tallying two runs to open game two on the day.
The YellowJackets had an opportunity to bring in a run in the top of the second, but a strikeout and a pop up to the Crusader second baseman faulted its chances.
Mary Hardin-Baylor would extend its lead in the bottom of the fourth with four runs and tagged on two more in the bottom of the sixth to defeat LETU.
The Crusaders outhit the Jackets 10-6. LETU left six on base, while UMHB left five stranded.
Kylie Grisham led the YellowJackets in the batter's box, going 3-for-3.
Kiley Banks,
Madelyn Tannery, and
Kenna Hendry each had one hit in the finale. Tannery lost in the circle after pitching 3.1 innings.
LETU returns home Wednesday as it faces off against Centenary in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
