Softball hosts No. 5 Belhaven in three-game series.
LONGVIEW, Texas – LETU softball hosts No. 5 nationally ranked Belhaven in an American Southwest Conference series showdown, beginning Friday with a doubleheader at 4 and 6 p.m.

Saturday's finale will be the sixth annual For the Heroes game as LETU softball honors fallen heroes that gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting our freedom. A short ceremony will be held before the contest to recognize these incredible individuals and their families. LETU Athletics welcomes you to join us in support of our men and women in uniform as we pay tribute to the sacrifices they, and their families, have made to keep us safe.

LETU highlight four hitters at the plate with each tallying 20+ hits on the season. Alysa Torres leads the YellowJackets with 31 hits and 20 RBIs, while Kylie Grisham follows with 26 hits. Callie Poore and Madelyn Tannery total 23 and 22 hits, respectively. Poore sits atop the team standings in homeruns, cranking four over the wall on the season. Kiley Banks and Grisham are No. 1 on the squad in stolen bases with eight apiece. Hailee Leger, Bailey Richey, and Laney Taylor spearhead the pitching core for LETU. Gordon leads BU with 42 hits, 34 RBIs, and eight homeruns, while Haley Hanson follows with 38 hits. Ellie Jones follows Gordon in RBIs with 27. Anna McNeer leads Belhaven in stolen bases, tallying eight. In the circle, the Blazers are led by one of the most prolific pitchers in the American Southwest Conference in Kennedy Carruth. Carruth has pitched 91 innings with 126 strikeouts on the season, putting together and ERA of 1.46. Gracey Baucom also features in the circle, following Carruth with 51.1 innings worked and 20 SO.
