JACKSON, Miss. -- Two YellowJackets set personal bests as LeTourneau women's cross country came in second at the Belhaven Invitational on Saturday morning.
The 6,000-meter race was the first of the 2025 season for LeTourneau, and the team averaged a 27:17 for the race, second behind Mississippi State.
Alayna Galloway ran over a minute faster than her previous record to record the highest placement for the YellowJackets. Her 25:52.90 landed her 21st overall, continuing her stellar 2025 campaign.
Sophomore
Peyton Chaney had the other personal best, as her 27:14.47 broke her previous 6k record by over 25 seconds, showcasing her consistent improvement thus far in 2025.
Madelyn DeLosSantos ran the second-best time by a LeTourneau runner, placing 23rd with her 26:22.60. Freshmen
Katelyn Chavez (27:19.45) and
Rivkah Schmickle (27:45.15) were next in line behind DeLosSantos and Chaney.
Felice Mullinax ran a 28:02.20 and
Hope Greenwald had a 28:28.77 to round out the YellowJacket runners.
Mississippi State placed first in the competition, while Bulldog runner Naomi Jepleting had a time of 20:41.18 to pace all runners.
