DALLAS -- Coming off an outstanding start in a series-clinching victory, LeTourneau baseball sophomore Ryan Brewer was named the ASC Pitcher of the Week, announced the conference on Monday.

Brewer is the second YellowJacket to earn pitcher of the week honors from the ASC this season, joining Zac Schneider (March 10).

A sophomore from Klein, Texas, Brewer tossed seven shutout innings and picked up the win in LeTourneau's 7-1 series-clinching victory over Southwestern on Saturday. Brewer only allowed two hits and one walk across his seven innings while striking out six. At one point in the win, Brewer retired 11 straight batters.

On the year, Brewer is 1-2 with 18 strikeouts in 23.2 innings.

LeTourneau (8-11) opens ASC play with a four-game series at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday (6 p.m.).
