Women's Basketball Has Four Named CSC Academic All-District

LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau women's basketball junior Kylie Weeks along with sophomores Future Asevedo, Mariana Espinosa, and Sara Savage were all named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, announced the organization on Tuesday.

CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The four Academic All-District honorees are the most LeTourneau has had in one season.

Weeks, a junior from Houston, Texas was an All-ASC third team selection in 2024-25. Weeks was third on the team in scoring at 8.7 points per game, while tallying 1.9 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.2 rebounds per game. Weeks ranked seventh in the ASC in steals per game. She scored a career-high 23 points against Concordia Texas during the season and had a 20-point outing at Mary Hardin-Baylor. Weeks was prolific at the free throw line making 85.1 percent on the year.

Majoring in business marketing, Weeks is a two-time ASC Academic All-Conference honoree. A two-sport athlete in tennis, Weeks also collected academic accolades as an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2023.

Asevedo, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, had a career-best season in 2024-25. She averaged a career-high 9.4 points with 1.4 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game in 27 contests. Asevedo scored a career-high 22 points vs. Hardin-Simmons (Jan. 18) and had 11 double-digit point games.

A pre-nursing major, Asevedo earned ASC Academic All-Conference last season.

A sophomore from Olmito, Texas, Espinosa garnered All-ASC third team honors this season. Espinosa had a standout sophomore year leading the YellowJackets with 12.7 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 2.7 assists per contest. She had a career-high 26 points in a win at Dallas on Nov. 23 and scored in double-digits 18 times. Espinosa was named the ASC Player of the Week on Nov. 25 after averaging 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists the week prior. As a guard, Espinosa ranked 10th in the ASC in rebounding and was fourth in assists.

Majoring in exercise science, Espinosa also collected ASC Academic All-Conference in 2023-24.

Savage, a sophomore from North Richland Hills, Texas, earned a spot on the ASC All-Defensive Team. The sophomore led the ASC in blocked shots with 30 (1.2 per game) and was eighth in steals per game at 1.7. Savage averaged 4.4 points and tied for the team lead with 5.5 rebounds per game to go with 1.8 assists per contest.

Majoring in aviation management, Savage was a member of the ASC Academic All-Conference team last season.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a significant contributor to the team (having started in 66 percent of the team's games or played in over 90 percent of those games), and be at least a sophomore academically.
