PENFIELD, N.Y. -- LeTourneau men's golf senior
Logan Moore carded a 3-under round with a score of 69 on a par 72 course in the first round of NCAA Chapionships. When the first wave of golfers hit the clubhouse at Midvale Country Club Moore was tied for the tournament lead.
Moore tallied six birdies and an eagle on they day. Finishing his round with back-to-back birdies. His eagle came on hole 8 where a powerful drive allowed him to hit the green after just two shots, setting him up for a tap in eagle on the par 5 hole.
Owen Prewitt recorded a 74 on the opening day of play. Prewitt did a good job of keeping his card clean paring on 14 of the 18 holes. He notched birdies on hole 11 and 15. Prewitt showed great discipline in picking his spots to be aggressive and knowing when to settle for par.
Kaiden Schneider shot a 78 in his round. After getting off to rocky start with a boogie on hole one, Schneider did a good job to battle back recording a birdie on a long par 5, hole 3 and an eagle on hole 17. Despite not having his best round Schneider did a good job of limiting the damage putting his team in a good position to make the cut after tomorrows round.
Corbin Barton and
Noah Summers round out the top five, Barton shot an 80 and Summers tallied an 83. Barton birdied on hole 9 and 15. Summers birded on hole 2 and 12.

The YellowJackets will play in round two of the NCAA DIII Championships at Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Penfield, N.Y. tomorrow Wednesday May 21st .
