LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau men's golf junior
Kaiden Schneider was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, announced the organization on Tuesday.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sport and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees (which includes golf student-athletes) in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Schneider, a junior from Bullard, Texas, earned All-ASC first team honors this season and was the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year for men's golf. After returning from an injury for the spring season, Schneider helped lead LeTourneau back to the NCAA Division III Championships with a 74.85 scoring average and one win and three top-10 finishes. He tied for first at the FST Pinecrest Invitational with a 5-under, 211. Schneider later earned ASC Golfer of the Week on April 1 after placing tied for second with an even-par, 216 at the West Region Invitational. He finished tied for sixth and earned ASC All-Tournament honors at the conference championships.
Majoring in business accounting, Schneider will be a two-time ASC Academic All-Conference honoree. He was also named to the GCAA All-America Scholar team last season.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, compete in at least 70 percent of a team's tournaments or compete in the conference tournament, and be at least a sophomore academically.
