NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- LeTourneau men's cross country opened the 2025 campaign with a second place finish at the SFA Lumberjack Invitational three-mile race on Friday evening.
Elijah Oudyn (16:08.0) and
Grayson Gaddis (16:12.0) led the way, finishing 12th and 13th, respectively, with Gaddis finishing just a hair behind his personal best despite the muddy conditions.
Freshman
Simon Nakamura made an early impression in his collegiate debut, landing 16th (16:40.0) to establish a new benchmark.
Alexander Hoksbergen (16:52.0 - 17th) established a new personal best, and
Zach Farris ran a 17:02.0 in his track debut.
Two more new faces,
Xavier Davila (17:03.0) and
Jack McCarty (17:13.0), made their collegiate debuts as well, each landing inside the top 20 finishers.Â
Right behind them were seniors
Aidan Hynes (17:15.0) and
Ike Lehman (17:15.0), with Hynes' time being a new personal best. Sophomore
Ryan Tally (17.17.0) set a new personal record, while junior
Austin Jett (17:33.0) added a personal best of his own.
The final two freshmen,
Gavin Smith (17:37.0) and
John Wesley Ely (17:49.0) established new benchmarks in their collegiate debuts and
Daniel Risberg crossed the finish line at 18:26.0 to complete the slate of YellowJacket runners.Â
