NORMAN, Okla. -- Following a dominating performance in the season-opening Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate, the LeTourneau men's golf team moved up to No. 11 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches' Top 25, announced the GCAA on Friday.
For the first time in program history, LeTourneau notched one of the No. 1 votes in the poll. The YellowJackets tallied 160 total points to move up two spots from the preseason ranking.
Under head coach
J. Paul Leslie III, LeTourneau carded a 1-under, 863 (295-284-284) to earn the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate title for a third straight year. The LeTourneau B team was second overall with an 888 (302-297-289) as the YellowJackets dominated the 12-team field.
LeTourneau's main team finished 28 strokes ahead of SCAC member Schreiner and defeated five conference foes in the tournament.
LeTourneau'sÂ
Rafa Torres andÂ
Owen Prewitt tied for first at 7-under, 209 for the tournament and Torres defeated Prewitt on the second playoff hole.Â
Noah Summers placed third overall with his 4-under, 212.Â

The YellowJackets are set to be tested once again at the NCAA Division III Preview, hosted by Oglethorpe, at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., on Sept. 21-23. The 54-hole event serves as a preview of the national championships, set to be held at the same courses in May 2026. Each of the top 19 teams, and 23 of the top 26, in last year's final Scoreboard/Clippd final poll will descend on El Campeon and Las Colinas for the 54-hole event starting on Sunday.
