SUWANEE, Ga. - LeTourneau volleyball's Elizabeth Corbitt was named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week and Nora Lockhart was named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Their efforts spearheaded the YellowJackets' charge, as they earned sweeps of both Ozarks and Austin College this week to improve to 4-2 in conference play.
Corbitt, a freshman from Longview, Texas, averaged 13.5 kills per match, while hitting .413 during LeTourneau's pair of wins. This season, Corbitt is fourth in the SCAC with 3.09 kills per set, while her .231 hitting percentage ranks sixth. Corbitt has had nine matches with double-digit kills this season, reaching 18 kills three separate times.
Lockhart, a senior from Highland Village, Texas, controlled the net, averaging 1.67 blocks per set, including seven in LeTourneau's three-set win over Austin College. Her defensive presence contributed to both Ozarks (-.018) and Austin College (.045) hitting their second-lowest percentage of the season.
LeTourneau (7-10, 4-2 SCAC) is back in action tomorrow night with a home match against Belhaven at 6:00 PM.
