IRVING, Texas -- Kinley Pessel picked up her third tournament title of the season and the LeTourneau women's golf team opened the spring schedule with a second place finish at the Crusader Cup, hosted by Dallas at the Hackberry Creek Country Club.

LeTourneau finished three strokes back of NAIA foe Our Lady of the Lake for the top spot. The YellowJackets had a 690 (334-356) in the 36-hole tournament while facing cold conditions in Monday's first round and windy conditions in Tuesday's final round. The YellowJackets were the top SCAC team in the field, finishing better than the other six teams.

Pessel won with a 16-over, 160 (76-84) to finish seven shots ahead of second place Kendall Ward of OLLU. Pessel had a round of 76 on Monday with four birdies -- including back-to-back birdies to open the round. She carded an 84 on Tuesday with a pair of birdies.

Pessel was the top player in the field in par-3 scoring (3.10), par-5 scoring (4.90, 1-under), and led the field with six birdies for the tournament.

It was her third tournament title in four events on the year. 

Emerson Swanner had a top-10 finish as she was eighth overall with a 173 (81-92). Swanner had one birdie in her first round. Halle Carr was tied for 13th with a 178 (87-91), while Hannah Newell was tied for 16th at 179 (90-89). Carr posted five birdies overall.

Lexie Cannon rounded out the LeTourneau golfers with her 203 (106-97).
