LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's golf team competes in the SCAC Championships, seeking its first conference championship in program history.
The SCAC Championships are set for April 19-21 at the Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas, hosted by Dallas.

TOURNAMENT NOTES:
- LeTourneau sits No. 39 in the most recent Scoreboard/Clippd national rankings -- and was as high as No. 33 this season, the highest ranking in program history.
- The YellowJackets are the only SCAC team inside the top 60 nationally, and sit 24 spots ahead of the next conference team.
- The conference team is composed of Kinley Pessel, Hannah Newell, Emerson Swanner, Elena Jurado, and Calli Hoesterey.
- LeTourneau won the Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate in the fall and has finished top three in all four tournaments this spring.
- The Jackets shot a season-low score of 40-over, 616 (306-310) at the California State Intercollegiate, finishing tied for fourth.
- Pessel is ranked No. 39 in the nation, 137 spots ahead of the next SCAC golfer. Pessel, Newell, and Swanner are all ranked in the top six in the conference.
- Pessel has shattered the record books this season with four wins in just seven tournaments. Pessel has only finished outside the top three once, has a scoring average of 75.53, and has been named SCAC Golfer of the Week five times.
- LeTourneau has combined for 15 top-10 placements, while Pessel has provided four par or better rounds, including two under-par finishes.
- Newell -- ranked fourth in the SCAC -- has heated up heading into the conference tournament. She has finished top-seven in her last three tournaments -- averaging a 79 along the way -- and has a season scoring average of 81.18.
- Swanner -- ranked sixth in the SCAC -- is also averaging an 81.18 on the year and shot a season-low 76 in round one of the Linda Lowery Invitational a month ago. Swanner has recorded a program-record three eagles this season.
- Jurado has been the model of consistency this spring, posting a 161, 164, and 163 in her three tournaments leading up to the SCAC Championships, with a season scoring average of 82.
- Hoesterey found her groove this spring, carding a scoring average of 82.33 in her three tournaments. Hoesterey shot a season low 77 in round one of the Linda Lowery Invitational, with a season-high finish of T-9
