NEW ORLEANS, La. -- LeTourneau men's track and field junior Calvin Mason and senior Aaron Willeford both earned USTFCCCA All-West Region outdoor honors, announced the organization this week.

Mason collected two honors in shot put and discus, while Willeford earned accolades in javelin.

Mason, a junior from New London, Texas, becomes a four-time USTFCCCA All-Region selection this year after garnering a pair of awards in the indoor season, and he's earned seven in his career. The junior was third in the West region, and 41st nationally, in shot put with a program-record mark of 16.21 meters (53'2.25) at the LeTourneau Invitational in March. He was eighth in the region in discus with a program-best distance of 46.84 meters (153'8) at the Dan Veach Invitational in April.

Mason becomes the first LeTourneau athlete to collect All-Region in discus and continues to be the only YellowJacket in program history to earn region honors in shot put. He was the SCAC champion in the hammer and earned three All-SCAC medals at the conference meet.

Willeford, a senior from Fort Worth, Texas, earns his first career All-Region honor. Willeford burst onto the scene with a program-record throw in the javelin at 60.95 meters (200'0) at the Carl Kight Invitational in April. That mark landed him seventh in the region and just outside the national qualifiers at 25th. Willeford won that event at the Stephen F. Austin-hosted Carl Kight Invitational and also claimed first in the event at the Dan Veach Invitational.

Willeford is the first YellowJacket to collect All-Region honors in javelin.
