LONGVIEW/MARSHALL, Texas – The LeTourneau men's and women's tennis teams put on a strong performance at the LETU/ETBU Invite.  

Friday's competition was played at the Davis Tennis Complex on the campus of LeTourneau University, while Saturday's matches were hosted at ETBU's Veterans Memorial Tennis Complex. The two host schools, alongside SCAC opponents Austin College and Ozarks, made up the programs competing in the event. 

The women's team dominated their doubles matches, finishing with an impressive 10-1 mark for the tournament. The YellowJackets also found success on the singles court, posting a 14-8 record over the weekend. 

Freshmen Madeline Chilek and Samantha Ferguson both put on strong performances as they each recorded a 5-0 record. Chilek earned straight-set wins against Austin College and Ozarks before rallying for a three-set win over ETBU. Chilek and Ferguson won both of their doubles matches together, including an 8-5 win over ETBU. 

Other solid performances on the women's side came from Tiana Braxton, Anaiah Smith, and Cambrey Johnson, who each finished their weekend with a record of 4-1.  

The men's team found plenty of success themselves, as they finished with a 17-8 singles record to go along with a doubles record of 11-4. 

Zachary Graham led the charge for the YellowJackets as he won all four of his matches to finish with a perfect 4-0 weekend. Graham teamed up with Brayden Money on the doubles court, where the duo won matches over Ozarks and ETBU. Money finished his weekend 4-1. 

LeTourneau got strong performances from Andrew Reiman, Josiah Nellis, and Keltan Jordan, who all finished with a 4-1 record. The YellowJackets also had five players earn a 3-1 record: Fernando Vazquez, Timothy Black, Draidahn Lico, Jack Giseburt, and Kale Crenshaw. 

UP NEXT 

Both teams will compete at the ITA Southwest Regional. The women's team will play Sept. 24-27 in San Antonio, Texas, while the men's team will play the following week in Abilene, Texas.
