YellowJackets Lose to Louisiana College, 7-0

Box Score

The LeTourneau University women's soccer team dropped a 7-0 decision to Louisiana College in Pineville on Thursday night.

The YellowJackets (1-10, 0-2 ASC) continued to rely on a possession-centered approach to the game. Despite the goal differential, LeTourneau had nine shots in the contest including five on goal. Plus, Raylene Gould and Ashley Joyner each had two shots on goal.

Louisiana College (3-7, 1-2 ASC) had six different players score a goal including a pair by Pamela Usry.

The Wildcats scored seven first half goals but were held off the scoreboard in the second half. LeTourneau head coach Jamie Lindvall noted, "we were not at our best in the first half and frankly, I think we let some of the things outside our control affect our play."

Despite a seven-goal difference at the half, the YellowJackets came back with a stronger effort in the second half. The offensive margin was smaller as Louisiana College outshot the visitors by an 8-6 margin. "Our second half play was outstanding though and our eight were consistently dangerous offensively and did a great job of playing collective soccer," said Lindvall.

LeTourneau is back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a contest against Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.
