SHREVEPORT, La. - The LeTourneau YellowJacket men's tennis team returned to the court on Tuesday afternoon as they took on the Centenary Gents. It was another dominating performance for the Jackets as they rolled past the Gents, 9-0.
The Jackets started things off by getting a great performance from the No. 3 doubles team of junior Josh Bailey and freshman Michael McLaughlin defeated Jordan Sangalli and Adam Ghaemmaghami, 8-2 while the No. 1 doubles teamof juniors Carlos Cantu and Laird Beaty defeated Michael Reeks and Garrett Whipple, 8-4.
The biggest win came from the No. 2 team of sophomores Kendall Beggs and Sindre Johnsgaard defeated Anthony McMaster and Cameron Bueche, 9-7 in thrilling fashion.
Things only got better as Bailey got things rolling with a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 5 singles while McLaughlin defeated Ghaemmaghami to clinch the match in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Beaty followed things with a win at No. 2 singles while Beggs and Johnsgaard took care of business at No. 3 and No. 4 singles in straight sets.
The most thrilling singles match came at No. 1 singles where Cantu defeated McMaster in three sets, winning 6-3 before dropping one 6-1. Cantu finished the match with a 6-4 win to complete the sweep of the Gents.
The win moves LeTourneau to 3-1 on the season. They return to action on February 22nd as they take on Southwestern on the road. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
