SHREVEPORT, La. - The LeTourneau YellowJacket women's tennis team traveled to Shreveport to take on the Centenary Ladies. The Jackets put together a great match, but fell just short to the Ladies, 5-4.
The Jackets got off to a great start in doubles competition as they got wins from the No. 1 doubles team of junior Sarah Case and Shelby May as well as a win from the No. 3 doubles team of senior Miranda Lamb and freshman Victoria Zhang.
In singles action, Case continues to roll through singles competition as she improved to 4-0 in No. 1 singles, defeating Lauren Beurlot 6-0, 6-0. The Jackets also notched another win from Zhang as she knocked off Ana Dangelo in a three set thriller, 2-6, 7-6, 7-6.
However, despite LeTourneau's great performance in certain areas, they could not pick up the win as Centenary got four singles wins to take the match.
With the loss, the Jackets fall to 0-4 in the young season, but looks to get things going the right way in the upcoming weeks.
The Jackets take two weeks off before opening the home season in Longview as they welcome in Henderson State on February 19th. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
