LONGVIEW - The LeTourneau YellowJackets women's tennis team was back at home on Saturday morning as they welcomed in the Millsaps Majors to Davis Tennis Courts. Despite a great effort as they were short a girl, the Jackets fell short, dropping the match 7-2.
Already down a game do to a forfeit in No. 3 doubles, the No. 2 doubles team of junior Kayla Bonina and freshman Nell Spencer were terrific in their match, knocking off Anna Brahre and Katie Wroblesk 8-5.
The match went into single where Bonina shined again at No. 3 singles, taking a great match from Laura Kebert, 7-6, 6-0 to gain LeTourneau another point. However, the Major proved to be too strong as they pulled away from the Jackets, winning 7-2.
LeTourneau will continue to fight as they hit the road on Friday, traveling to Birmingham to take on the Birmingham-Southern Panthers. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
