LONGVIEW - Junior Sarah Case finished the American Southwest Conference season 5-0 at No. 1 singles as they Jackets routed the Louisiana College Wildcats with a 9-0 victory on Saturday afternoon. Earlier that day, the Jackets dropped a contest to UT-Tyler by score of 7-2.

In the first match against the Patriots, the No. 1 doubles team of Case and junior Kayla Bonina picked up a huge 8-4 win over the Patritos No. 1 squad to make it a 2-1 match in favor of UT-Tyler. Case turned around and was in a great match with Amy Friesenhahn who withdrew from the match in the middle of a 4-4 first set.

UT-Tyler was able to pull away though and take the 7-2 victory.

Later that afternoon, Case and Bonina led off the scoring with an 8-0 win over Louisiana College's No. 1 team. The No. 2 doubles team of senior Miranda Lamb and junior Shelby May as well as the No. 3 doubles team of freshmen Nell Spencer and Brittany Cowan each picked up 8-0 victories. 

Things only got better in singles as Case, May, and Bonina all cruised to straight set victories in No. 1, 2, and 3 singles. Lamb, Spencer, and Cowan domianted No. 4, 5, and 6 as well in straight sets for the dominating win.

The Jackets finish their season at 4-17, but go 3-3 in the ASC and really came on strong in the second half of the season.

LeTourneau loses one senior in Miranda Lamb. She is thanked by the tennis program for her hard work both on and off the court and het great committment to the program.

The Jackets return to action in the fall as they will compete in the ASC Individuals as well as the ITA Women's Tournament.
