Ladaria Brown Has Double Double in 78-70 Loss to East Texas Baptist

Box Score LeTourneau University men's basketball sophomore Ladaria Brown had a double double with 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 78-70 loss to East Texas Baptist on Monday night in Marshall.

The game marks the end of the career for LeTourneau senior Justin Jones, who had 18 points in his final game in the Blue and Yellow. Jones was joined in double digits by Brown and Aaron Frizell, who added 16.

The YellowJackets (5-20, 4-18 ASC) built an early 17-9 lead on the Tigers until they scored nine unanswered for an 18-17 advantage. The two teams exchanged leads until a layup with 11:04 to go in the first 20 minutes put East Texas Baptist ahead 20-19. ETBU remained in front for the rest of the contest.

The Tigers (11-14, 9-13 ASC) were led by the 22-point effort from Erby Thompson – who also was 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. He was joined in double digits by Dylan Augustine and Justin Felicia, who scored 18 and 10 points, respectively.

Facing a 16-point deficit early in the second half, LeTourneau went on a 15-4 spurt – eight of which came from Brown – cut the ETBU lead to five, 53-48 with 12:06 to play. Later in the half, another spurt by the YellowJackets reduced the Tigers lead to four, 66-62, with 2:46 to play. LeTourneau would draw no closer in the defeat.

The contest marks the end of the 2013-14 season for the LeTourneau men's basketball program.
