The LeTourneau University men's tennis raised its record to 5-1 with a 9-0 win over Hendrix on Saturday at the Davis Tennis Courts.
LeTourneau controlled the doubles action to start the match with a pair of 8-0 wins at No. 2 doubles –
Sindre Johnsgaard and
Morgan Weaver and No. 3 doubles –
Michael McLaughlin and
Tyler Grove. The No. 1 doubles team of
Laird Beaty and
Kendall Beggs defeated their Hendrix counterparts, 8-5.
The YellowJackets defended the home court as they swept all six singles matches without dropping a set. At No. 4 singles –
Michael McLaughlin and at No. 6 singles –
Tyler Grove, they defeated their opponents by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
Both
Sindre Johnsgaard at No. 3 singles and
Kendall Beggs at No. 1 singles extended their winning streaks to six and four, respectively.
The YellowJackets will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to Hardin-Simmons for a match on Sunday at 2 p.m. and Howard Payne on Monday at noon.
