With a full lineup for the first time in the spring, the LeTourneau University women's tennis team defeated Hendrix, 7-2 on Saturday at the Davis Tennis Courts.
The YellowJackets (3-3) started the day with wins at No. 2 doubles by
Shelby May and
Megan Rush, who were victorious, 8-5 and the No. 3 doubles by
Amy Miley and
Victoria Zhang, who won 8-2.
LeTourneau carried the momentum into its singles play winning five of six singles matches. Four of the five wins came in straight sets. The fifth came at No. 2 singles with senior
Shelby May winning in a third-set tiebreaker, 10-4. Also for victorious for LeTourneau was senior
Kayla Bonina, who won at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1, to improve her record to 4-1 on the spring.
The YellowJackets will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to Hardin-Simmons for a match on Sunday at 2 p.m. and Howard Payne on Monday at noon.
