Box Score 2 LeTourneau University scored 11 runs in the first three innings en route to a 14-0 win in game one and the YellowJackets scored six of the last seven runs for a 7-2 win in the nightcap to complete a doubleheader sweep of host East Texas Baptist on Friday afternoon.
The YellowJackets (15-2, 10-1 ASC) had 22 hits in the doubleheader sweep and the LeTourneau starting pitchers
Curt Copeland (Game 1) and
Cody Whitley (Game 2) were in control for their two outings.

In Game 1, four-different players had multiple hits including
Sean Sellers, who led the attack with three hits. One of his three hits was a two-run home run in the first that sparked a three-run first inning. Sellers also had three RBI and scored three times in the win. Copeland, on the mound, went the distance for the 7-inning shutout and striking out six to raise his record to 2-1.

In Game 2, LeTourneau spread eight hits among seven-different players including two by
Chris Bertram for his seventh multi-hit game of the season. Whitley – as the starting pitcher - improved to 4-0 with a seven-inning effort, teammate
Jon Riley came out of the bullpen and held the Tigers without a hit.

Game 1
Sellers hit a two-run home run in the first inning as LeTourneau jumped out to a 3-0 advantage. A strike 'em out and caught stealing negated an early threat by the host Tigers.

In the second, LeTourneau sent 10 batters to the plate and scored seven runs to put the visitors ahead 10-0 for its largest lead of the season. In the inning, with the bases loaded,
Ryan Bertram hit a single that was misplayed by the Tigers to score three runs for the YellowJackets. Two more of the runs came in on a single by
Jared O'Neal.

The first career solo home run by junior
Caleb Pritchett stretched the LeTourneau lead to 11-0 in the third. A RBI triple by Sellers and a two-run home run by senior
David Perkins in the fifth provided the final margin.
The East Texas Baptist offense was limited to nine hits including three hits by Matty Sullivan. Starting pitcher Ashley Dukes went 1.1 and gave up 10 runs – nine earned and struck out one in the loss to fall to 3-2.
Game 2
Trailing 2-1 in the fifth inning, LeTourneau regained the lead when they scored twice for a 3-2 lead. The go-ahead run came across on a wild pitch.

In the sixth, a RBI single by
Ryan Garza put the visitors up 4-2. After stranding the bases loaded in the seventh inning, the YellowJackets scored three insurance runs in the ninth. With the bases loaded, graduate student
Garrett Methvin came off the bench to deliver a two-RBI single with the bases loaded.

LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist will wrap up the weekend series with a 1 p.m. tilt at Woods Field in Marshall.
