Laird Beaty won both of his singles matches on Saturday, April 12.
The LeTourneau University men's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday in Sherman, Texas.

The YellowJackets (13-5) started the day with a 7-2 win over Austin College. In the win over AC, LeTourneau took all three of the doubles matches to begin the day. Two of the three wins came with LeTourneau winning in a tiebreaker. When action shifted over to singles, the YellowJackets won in straight sets at No. 2, 3, 4 and 6. The win by sophomore Laird Beaty at No. 2 singles raises his record to 19-5 on the season. The Lindale native has won 10 of his last 11 matches.

LeTourneau ended the day with a 7-2 loss to the University of the Southwest. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the YellowJackets. LeTourneau won one of three matches to begin the contest as Beaty and senior Josh Bailey improved to 5-2 with their win at No. 1 doubles. The other victory for LeTourneau came at No. 1 singles with Beaty winning a 6-4, 6-1 decision. For Beaty, it was his first win at No. 1 singles on the season.
