Box Score In its final home series of 2014, the LeTourneau University baseball team erupted for 15 runs on 15 hits and capitalized on five errors by Mary-Hardin Baylor en route to a 15-4 win on Friday night at Conrad-Vernon Field.
The YellowJackets (24-11, 18-10 ASC) ended a scoreless contest in the second inning with five runs. They added to their lead with a run in the third and broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning to take a 13-0 lead.
Mary-Hardin Baylor (23-12, 17-11 ASC) scored three times in the fifth and a run in the sixth to draw closer until LeTourneau added two more in the bottom of the sixth in the rout.
All nine starters for LeTourneau scored as
(pictured to the left), who was pitching in his final home series. Copeland struck out six to improve his home record for his career to 8-0. Out of the bullpen,
Ben Boles pitched the final two innings of one-hit relief to shut down the Cru bats.
The YellowJackets batted around in the second and the fifth inning. The 15 hits are the most since they pounded out 20 hits and scored 12 times in the series opener against Texas-Tyler on April 11.
The two teams wrap up the weekend series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader. Between the two games, LeTourneau will honor
